Audi: Using a centenary to advantage

What happens when you combine large quantities of frozen water, high-powered motor vehicles and media types?

When Audi celebrated its centenary, we were given the opportunity to devise and execute a media relations programme - and in a first for the car manufacturer, we were given the challenge of actively engaging with non-motoring media.

We identified the opportunity to leverage the inaugural Audi Ice Experience in Queenstown, and undertook a targeted media hosting campaign to inspire wide interest around an understated brand's 100th birthday. A beautifully shot story on the Ice Experience on a national television news programme, a feature story on the following morning's TV business news and lengthy articles in major metropolitan newspapers and magazines were among the impressive results achieved.
