I have recently returned to Consultus, after spending time working in Hong Kong, the Middle East, and the UK, and one thing that I have learned is that what we do here in New Zealand is as good as, if not better than, what is happening in similar agencies overseas. I truly believe that Consultus, and the Acumen Republic, is world class.
I chose to return to Consultus Corporate PR, after three years overseas, largely for the opportunity to continue learning from some of the best in the industry. With the expertise of the senior team here at Acumen Republic, I am constantly in awe of the way in which they can come together and solve the most complex problems that our clients throw at us.
Amongst many other areas of involvement, my key role is with government relations; this means dealing with politicians, government agencies and other key decision makers. Much of what I do involves the translation between the corporate world and the government world. This means having a deep understanding of each world, the skill to communicate between these worlds effectively, and the ability to demonstrate this to stakeholders.
Alistair has nearly ten years experience working in the communications sector and he is responsible for Consultus Corporate PR's government relations activity. He also has specialist expertise in several areas including the environment, oil and gas, infrastructure and energy. Prior to joining Consultus, Alistair worked for the Ministry for the Environment and as an adviser in Parliament for MPs, Ministers and two Leaders of the Opposition.
